The Challenge

I like brownies. My friends like brownies. But, my friends have developed a late in life allergy to gluten. We are getting together for the holidays soon and I, of course, want to take something. Combing through my favorite sites, I decided to use the Almond Flour Brownie recipe from King Arthur Baking.

I recently found out that November 21st is National Gingerbread Cookie Day. One of the facts I saw was that Nuremburg, Germany is the gingerbread capital of the world.  Who knew? Just in time for holiday baking practice.

It's pumpkin season, so why not make something to celebrate. I tried a Pumpkin Bread.

I love scones! Probably not a surprise. I really like cherries and I was curious about cherry and almond scones. Enter the King Arthur Baking Cherry Almond Scone Mix.

I really wanted waffles. I had buttermilk that needed to be used. I had whole wheat flour that needed to be used. So, Buttermilk Whole Wheat Waffles.

I love bread and love learning to bake it. In some of my reading the characters talk about Irish Soda bread. So, I decided to try to make some. I tried the Dutch Oven Irish Soda Bread recipe from QuicheMyGrits.com (love the name) which uses a small 3-QT dutch oven.
