Butter Swim Biscuits

Updated: 01 October 2023

Indulging in a favorite seasonal baking show, I heard about the Butter Swim Biscuit. I did a double take! I like making biscuits but I love eating them. I'd never of making them by swimming them in butter, that just sounded groan worthy. The chef explained what they were and we got a glimpse of how to make it. Not very hard to do make, and bonus, the biscuits soak up the butter they took a swim in.

Taking to the Internet I found a few dozen recipes to try and in 30 minutes the tasting could begin.

The recipe that I tried from Allrecipes.com: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/280473/butter-swim-biscuits/

My first attempt didn't quite go as planned. My dough was too wet. I baked them a little longer and they were so yummy. I used my favorite Kerrygold Unsalted Butter and King Arthur Baking All Purpose Flour.

Update

I tried this recipe again. This time, my dough was not too wet and I was able to bake them per the instructions. They were again yummy and oh so buttery. I had to freeze them to know inhale the entire batch in one sitting. Definitely a keeper!
