It's fall and of course that means it is Apple picking season which leads to Apple Cider! I couldn't let my cider go to waste, so I made Apple Cider Whipped Cream.
I'd decided to make some mini bundt cakes but was stuck with what to top or glaze them with. That was until I remember the locally produced apple cider in my refrigerator. I don't do whipped cream often because most times it is just too sweet and well, plain. I didn't need a big batch and didn't want to use my stand mixer and the hand mixer seemed like a lot clean up when I only wanted a small amount. I read somewhere (if I find it again I will link it here) about using a jar to whip cream. That was going to be my answer. There is probably a recipe somewhere online, but here's what I did.
Ingredients:
1/2 c. Confectioner's Sugar
5 Tablespoons Apple Cider
3/4 c. Heavy Whipping Cream
Directions:
Combine all of the ingredients into a mason jar and SHAKE!
The result was a whipped cream that I enjoyed. I put a big dollop in the middle of my mini bundt cakes and then added a sprinkle of cinnamon. PERFECT!
